Paris, 15 February 2018 – Scott Pascucci, CEO, Steven Salm, Chief Business Development Officer, and Jake Wisely, Chief Publishing Executive, all from leading independent music group Concord Music, will deliver a shared keynote at Midem 2018.
The home of the global music community, Midem takes place in Cannes, France, from 5-8 June 2018. The Concord Music shared keynote is part of the Midem Conference Programme and is scheduled for Wednesday 6 June.
The trio of Concord executives will highlight how the group has evolved from the combination of a small independent publishing company (Bicycle Music) and a small label (Concord Music Group) to becoming a leading global independent music company, encompassing all fields of the music business from recording to publishing, and film and TV production, thanks to the ownership of a unique catalogue of musical works. They will also share their vision on this unique business model, and discuss how they have been able to develop a strong acquisition strategy to grow their musical and international footprint.
Concord Music is the independent, worldwide leader in the development, acquisition, and management of recorded music, music publishing, and theatrical performance rights. Concord Music has a diverse and vibrant roster of active recording artists, composers, and songwriters, and a vast and historic catalogue of works by some of the most treasured names in music history.
“Midem has been an important annual tradition for our executives throughout the evolution of Concord Music. With our acquisition of Imagem last year, Midem is now more than ever the place to come together with our global music industry peers to talk about creativity, productivity, and connectivity. I look forward to the Concord Music keynote and Q&A with my colleagues Jake Wisely and Steven Salm. Hopefully what we’ve learned from our successes and failures in our ever-changing business will help others — and vice versa,” said Pascucci.
Scott Pascucci is the Chief Executive Officer of Concord Music and a member of its Board of Directors. Prior to Concord, Pascucci was President and COO of Exclusive Releasing, and also served as President of Rhino Entertainment, a division of Warner Music Group, and as Co-Chairman of Frank Sinatra Enterprises. He is a Grammy Award-winning producer for the Ron Howard-directed documentary “The Beatles: Eight Days a Week” (2016).
As Concord’s Chief Business Development Officer, Steven Salm oversees the company’s M&A activities, negotiations and business development initiatives in the music I.P. market with the strategy of building significant long-term value through the acquisition of publishing companies, record labels, music catalogues, key artist and songwriter deals, and theatrical/grand rights.
In his role as Chief Publishing Executive, Jake Wisely oversees Concord’s creative operations, business affairs, licensing, and administration of the recently consolidated publishing operations of The Bicycle Music Company, Imagem Music Group (including Boosey & Hawkes and Rodgers & Hammerstein), and Tams-Witmark Music Library. A veteran of ASCAP, EMI Music Publishing, and Universal Music Publishing, Wisely is a Director on the Boards of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) and the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP).
“It is important to welcome leading independent companies who are pushing the business forward by creating new and innovative business models, so we are honoured to host Concord Music, since it perfectly encapsulates the global music ecosystem which we promote at Midem,” said Alexandre Deniot, Director of Midem.
