In this exclusive session, multi Grammy award-winning Cuban duo, Gente de Zona, will discuss their international rise, with Michel Vega, leading Latin music executive, who co-founded Magnus Media with Marc Anthony. The conversation will be the highlight of Midem’s Latin American Forum, as Midem Director, Alexandre Deniot, explains, “For the past few years, Midem has been shining a light on the extraordinary rise of Latin artists on the global stage. It’s been fascinating seeing their evolution into global mainstream and I can’t wait for this year’s Midem Latin American Forum to explore what the next frontier for Latin music will be. From Daddy Yankee to Anitta, Visitante, Dalex or Elvis Crespo, we’ve had the honour of welcoming leading Latin acts at Midem and I’m thrilled that Michel Vega will join us with Gente de Zona, for what I’m sure will be a very inspiring conversation.”
Founded by artist-entrepreneur, Marc Anthony, who himself successfully crossed over to the mainstream in the 90s/2000s, and Michel Vega, a veteran music executive from the live sector, Magnus Media is built on a partnership making it completely relevant. A modern music company, it provides its roster of Latin acts with a wide range of services, tailor-made to help them grow their careers with a global perspective. Working across artist management, music publishing and Digital/Video/TV content creation, Michel Vega will bring a fresh perspective to Midem.
Both Michel Vega and Gente de Zona are looking forward to their exclusive Midem session. Michel Vega says, “We are thrilled to share our experiences in the booming Latin music sector with our colleagues from throughout the world”. Gente de Zona add, “We are really excited to be part of the Midem 2020 line-up and we are looking forward to our dialogue with the global music community”.
