Paris, June 9 2020 – Midem, the home of the global music community, today announces the winners of this year’s Midemlab competition. The 13th edition took place digitally for the first time in its history because of the global health situation.
The leading music startup competition, Midemlab, seeks out the most promising international startups developing new technologies that aim to reshape the music industry. The 20 finalists to present their projects at this year’s Midem were selected from a total of 226 entries from 49 countries (a record in Midemlab’s history) reflecting the dynamic entrepreneurship in the music industry.

Music Creation & Education (Latvia) – A solution that simplifies music teaching in schools and inspires practicing at home.
Music Distribution & Discovery
Super Hi-Fi (USA) – Advanced AI that helps automatically deliver digital-music listening experiences
Music Marketing & Data/Analytics
Audoo (UK) – An audio meter which tracks music broadcast in commercial premises.
Live Music Experiences
Uptune (Canada) – Suite of software tools helping musicians improve their sound.

Midemlab Success Stories
Previous Midemlab winners include Soundcloud, Kickstarter, The Echo Nest (acquired by Spotify), Next Big Sound (acquired by Pandora) Asaii (acquired by Apple) and BandPage (acquired by YouTube). More recently, 2019 Midemlab winner Endlesss (UK) closed a major funding round from high-profile execs right after Midem and Jambl (Germany) raised €500k just a few months after taking part in Midemlab.
The Midemlab Finalists Package
All Midemlab finalists benefited from a one-to-one coaching session with Abbey Road Red to better understand how to pitch their startup. They then introduced their company and project to an audience of decision-makers, international media, and potential investors. The four winners, nominated by votes from a professional jury, will benefit from free legal advice from Jeff Liebenson of Liebenson Law, free PR advice from Rock Paper Scissors, free marketing advice from Kuack Media, a free mentoring session from innovation firm The Lynk, a one-to-one meeting with VC firm Plus 8 Equity, one free registration for Midem 2021, and more.
