Paris, January 27 2021 – Midem, the home of the global music community, and Latinx Bizarro Lab, join forces on a unique 2021 digital programme: a spotlight on the Latin American music industry. The online event, from 11-12 March, on Midem Digital, will bring together the region’s movers and shakers and their global peers, to discuss the dynamic music scenes of Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
Through a solid programme of panel discussions, networking opportunities and showcases, participants will be invited to dive into the Latin music industry, sounds and music tech scene, aligned with the challenges we face as an industry in current times.
The Midem Latin American Forum is a long-term programme, designed to establish business and artistic relationships between Latin America and professionals from the rest of the world. The Forum aims to develop and sustain the structuring of local and regional music ecosystems and international business across Latin America.
As the audience for Latin music grows worldwide, so too does the need for international music execs to understand the markets, music genres, and business opportunities in the region. Innovation is essential in the music and creative industries, the key to building the future of entertainment. Against this backdrop, Midem and Latinx Bizarro Lab are leading agents for an industry that mobilises millions of people around the world: artists and their audiences in today’s digital world.
Midem Director, Alexandre Deniot, comments: “It’s essential for us to continue to help the music community to come together, to connect and drive business, while we all face the ongoing challenges of the pandemic. We launched the Midem Latin American Forum in 2018, spotlighting its endless opportunities and the region’s incredible talents. And this year, we’re particularly thrilled to pursue the exploration of this phenomenal market in partnership with our long-term friends at Bizarro, bringing the week-long Midem Latin American Forum to Midem Digital, in association with Latinx Bizarro Lab.”
Alfredo Alonso, CEO of Bizarro Live Entertainment, says: “We are very pleased to announce this partnership between Midem and our Latinx seminar to talk about the future of the industry, with a broad view on Latin America. An initiative that allows us to meet again to discuss possible solutions and new ways of thinking, addressing how innovation will contribute to the development of entertainment in a post-Covid world. At Bizarro we have always believed in the place that Latin America deserves in the global industry and this alliance with Midem allows us to continue advancing in the promotion of our talent, not only artistic, but also the high level of our professional and technical talents.”
Bespoke networking opportunities will be scheduled to connect Latin execs with their international counterparts. Beyond business, the programme will highlight local talent, ready for global export, to support them in creating opportunities to reach new international audiences. The event will provide a platform for the region’s artistic scene and rich mix of music genres via digital showcases and dj sets.
The official Midem Latin American Forum programme will be announced in the coming weeks. Keep up-to-date on Midem Digital.
