Vania Schlogel is Chief Investment Officer for music subscription service Tidal. Tidal has been at the centre of all discussions in the industry and notably on the burning topic around streaming services and the sustainability of their models. Prior to joining Tidal earlier this year, Schlogel was the Chief Investment Officer of Roc Nation, an entertainment firm founded by Jay Z, with activities spanning multiple business lines, including athlete representation, recorded music, spirits, fashion, and live events production. Previously, she was an executive at private equity firm KKR, during which she helped build BMG Music Publishing from a company with annual revenues of $3 million into the world’s largest independent music publisher with earnings in excess of $1 billion.

Christophe Muller is responsible for managing and developing YouTube’s global partnerships initiatives in the music space. He will showcase YouTube’s commitment to contributing to artists’ journeys to success in today’s music landscape and share his vision of the role YouTube will play in the music industry as it continues to evolve. He joined Google in London in 2003. Previously, Muller worked for several internet companies including Priceline.com Europe, an online travel company in London. Before moving to London in 2000, he held various positions in the business/corporate development and finance areas in the US, Germany and France.

Andrus Ansip, appointed European Commission VP with responsibility for the Digital Single Market in November 2014, will share his vision on what should be the right copyright reform and discuss how the music industry was able to give access to content and develop viable business models, together with the role of platforms in this new digital ecosystem. He was previously a member of both the Estonian and European Parliaments, and was Estonia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, leading three different coalition governments. He has also served as Minister of the Economy and as Mayor of his native city of Tartu.

Alexander Ljung launched SoundCloud in 2008 with Eric Wahlforss as a platform for people to discover new, original music, for creators to build audiences, and for everyone to share what they hear whether online or on mobile. Today, SoundCloud reaches more than 350 million people every month, 175 million of whom are unique listeners. Creators post 12 hours of new content on SoundCloud every minute and more than 10 million creators are heard every year. Named in Billboard magazine’s annual “40 under 40”, highlighting music’s most disruptive power players, Ljung is responsible for the company’s vision and overall strategy, and oversees a global team of more than 300 people. He will talk about his experience and tell us how Soundcloud became a powerhouse player in the digital audio business.
